I led the UX and UI design for the Printforce Online Artwork Builder, a sophisticated web application integrated directly into the company’s client portal. The primary objective was to streamline the marketing workflow for Australian real estate agencies by connecting their property data directly to print production. The web app seamlessly integrates with major industry databases—REA Cloud, NurtureCloud, and Pulse—to sync live property listing information. This integration allows agents to pull data instantly into the builder, enabling the efficient creation of ready-to-print marketing materials, ranging from brochures to large-format signboards, all within a centralised dashboard.
For this project, I worked with stakeholders to develop initial wireframing in Figma to the final high-fidelity mockups. I collaborated closely with developers from Ekeria, an Italian-based web development partner, to ensure the technical implementation matched the design vision. The core challenge was to to ensure that our builder functioned properly with the half a dozen different client databases that the real estate industry used.
A key feature of the artwork builder was the implementation of a dynamic, contextual object properties menu. To keep things simple and minimise the need for users to search between multiple tabs, the interface was designed to be highly responsive to user interaction. The contextual menu automatically updates its tools based on the selected element; clicking an image reveals scaling, upload, and gallery options, while selecting text instantly presents typography and styling tools.
The final result is a powerful, intuitive platform that allows clients to visualise their changes in real-time. Users can create, edit, and manage their marketing assets live on screen, with the assurance that the final output is optimised for production. Once a design is finalised, the system allows the user to schedule a time for print and delivery with Printforce.
