I served as the lead creative for the branding and visual identity of Norton Rose Fulbright’s Financial Institutions Symposium 2019, a four-day event designed for business leaders to discuss strategic challenges in the finance sector. The project involved a comprehensive marketing campaign that ran for five weeks leading up to the symposium, using email, web and social media to target finance professionals and previous attendees. This targeted strategy drove engagement and ultimately resulted in a sold-out event.

The design direction needed to align with the established Norton Rose Fulbright brand while introducing a more modern and accessible aesthetic. The client specifically requested a contemporary look to make traditional financial topics feel more engaging. I developed a visual system based on fundamental geometric shapes, squares, crosses, circles and lines. The design was intentionally flat and modular, allowing our small design team to rapidly create and deploy consistent assets across various media formats.

A significant component of the project was the on-site visual experience. I produced a range of motion assets for the venue, including looping animations for large LCD panels, speaker introduction videos, and pre-recorded content. The heavy use of motion graphics helped maintain visual interest throughout the four days. Beyond the digital and motion elements, I also designed all physical collateral and printed items handed out during the event, ensuring a cohesive visual identity from the initial invitation through to the final session.
